Safehands Network Ltd is a registered care company regulated by the government and works to high legislative standards
All babysitters are screened and registered through a stringent HR process.
As members of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) the HR team are trained and experienced in recruiting individuals, and they are also on hand to answer any questions or administer CRB applications and provide advice on CRB checks.
Safehands Network Ltd is a registered umbrella body with the criminal records bureau and can undertake CRB checks on behalf of others who are not registered. All staff, whether based at the company’s head office or in the social care field are required to have an Enhanced CRB disclosure certificate.
Safehands Standards for Babysitting
All babysitters must have a CRB enhanced clearance or OFSTED registration certificate- All babysitters must have relevant child care experience (parenting, child minder etc.)
- All babysitters must have an initial telephone interview, and the outcome recorded and a decision made as to the suitability of the applicant
- If successful, all babysitters must complete an application form and be fully vetted before their details are added to the company’s national data base (HR manager oversees this process)
- All babysitters must be reference checked (2 references)
- All babysitters must have a personal file containing all relevant information/ copies of certificates / CRB certificates /passport photograph etc.
- Followed by a face to face meeting if possible within two months of the initial telephone interview as planned and co-ordinated by the project manager and HR team
- All babysitter must agree the company’s code of conduct and terms and conditions and to display company I.D. badge
- All babysitters must wear a company polo shirt
- The appointed Safehands coordinator for babysitting services oversees the whole operational delivery of services at this level, and works in partnership with the HR team for the recruitment of babysitters nationally, within the necessary employment legislation and standards
- All babysitters are self-employed
